I teamed up with Andrea at Avenle for a quick and simple DIY project, just in time for Thanksgiving. Here is a quick and easy DIY Bunting you can use to liven up your glorious day. Enjoy! What you'll need:
Burlap (A bunch. That is a technical term)
Printed Letters GIVE THANKS
Hot Glue Gun
Washi Tape & Scissors
Something round to trace
String to tie it all together
Coffee & Chit Chat
1. Print letters
2. Stack papers and trace a circle. Cut them out (easier to cut all together for consistency)
3. Cut burlap into rectangles (do NOT cut while wearing corduroy pants. We learned the hard way)
4. Take your Washi tape and make a little "roof" on your burlap. (There is a technical term, but I'm only one cup of coffee deep for the day. See the example to see what the heck I'm talking about.
5. Cut your little tails off the burlap.
6. Glue your letters on with the hot glue gun. (Feel free to add some sparkly stuff here!)
7. String it and hang it up!

Most people don't think about hiring a photographer for birthday parties or baby showers. You put so much effort into planning and preparing for your party, why not enjoy it?! You can't be everywhere at once, and you will miss out on so much if you're not in the moment. Believe me, I've tried to photograph my own events (same goes for vacations!). I'm so happy when families invite me into their important moments. It's seriously an honor to document the day so they can actually be a part of it. I hope you enjoy this one!

How cute is this Pinterest worthy Once Upon a Time themed baby shower? Instead of your typical Disney Princess stuff, each table had a centerpieces from different stories like Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Frozen, The Little Mermaid (my favorite!) and Beauty and the Beast.
Before all the festivities, we got to sneak in a few minutes for a quickie maternity session (including the dog!). Thanks to a local friend, we had a quiet spot off the beaten path with delicious sunlight peeking through the leaves.

I'm a mom, I get it. The last thing we want to do is force kids into photos or make the experience painful. I make sure to work quick and efficient. Mom has a household to run and kids have play time they don't want to miss out on. :)
It's fascinating to watch them interact with each other during the session. They let me boss them around for a few minutes and kick up dust. We also got to see one of the local horses come through, so that was a fun little surprise.
